Definition of Contrast!

Traveling the AICW south through Georgia requires a constant review of charts, tides and especially the latest shoaling information. Of course weather reports are an ongoing review.
After leaving Savanna we traveled to Kilkenny Marina off the Ossabaw Sound, next day moored at Hidden Harbor Yacht Club at Black River and then on to Morningstar Marina at Lanier Island. The weather has been over the top hot so we have not been anchoring for quite a while. Our preference is not to run the generator all night for AC. But more importantly a pool before cooking dinner is far more imporatant! :-)

Kilkenny is a quaint secluded marina just off the AICW in Richmond Hill, GA. It is a family owned business built on the grounds of the1800's Kilkenny Plantation.

Friday morning we traveled to Hidden Harbor Yacht Club on the Black River. Bobbie is an excellent Dock Master and very accomodating! The marina is small  but very clean with a great Captain's Lounge area.
We stayed only one night and left for St. Simon's Island the next morning.

Saturday we had a short trip over to St. Simon's to the Morningstar Marina. This is our last port of call in Georgia. We spent a good portion of the day cleaning the boat. Captain Ron dived under the boat to clean vegetation from around the shafts. Late afternoon we enjoyed some time at the pool and met many other boaters from the area.

It's Sunday 8/24 and we are socked in with major rain. Listened to Dr. Charles Stanley this morning. I love starting my day with his message. He is one of my favorite preachers. Good day to catch up on blogging and finish up a good book.

Hey Ron...look what just pulled in behind us! Oh that teeny little thing??? It is actually the 108ft mega-yacht "Diablo Blanco" from BVI. Hey not so close there! Oh did I mention they carry 2000 gal of fuel???
